We now want to focus on the cohesion of the room and really pulling everything together. As I have mentioned before, paint will help a ton! But now we need to work with everything else that we have. Let's first clean our pallet... Perfect- this will be done when you paint! Get everything out of the kitchen...aside from the essentials -coffee maker, kitchenaid mixer, etc. Pull the cool vintage forks that we found for a steal at Pottery Barn last year, off the wall. We will plan to lean them on a wall.
The big wall needs a large peice of art. This is a perfect opportunity for a really cool, big peice of some sort. When I say art, I don't just mean a picture in a frame. It could be anything...with the expansive wall, your options are endless. Here are a few ideas to spark your imagination.
This birch forest is perfect parts masculine and rustic without being in your face. There are two in the set and are currently 20% off at ZGallerie!
Pottery Barn features lots of creative artwork. The following are two current peices that I love. Color and texture are big, and both options here pull in all sorts of colors while not being overkill.
The first Painted Peiced Artwork is 50x50 and would make quite a statement. The second, Metal Patchwork is quite a bit smaller, but is striking as it is.
Another colorful option would be to find some sort of old sign, peice of a barn, etc. These two are from JC Penney. They're on sale too!

Another Pottery Barn peice is this Circles Wall Mount Votive Holder stretches 64" across which would fill up the kitchen wall nicely. However, you aren't gaining any color or solidness...
Thoughts?
Love your suggestions....if the Pottery Barn one is too small, how about 4 of them grouped together?
