The Bones

Katie and Wes' home-work will start in the main room of the house- the great room- living/dining/kitchen combo. This room is awesome in size, shape, flow, etc. There is so much potential here. The two things that are most necessary are color and furniture.

Color is essential. It is so important to any space. Especially with the room being so large, color will help to pull it in and unite the space.

Furniture is important as well. I have suggested a variety of ways to arrange said furniture in the 'living' space. Once we get the final dimensions together, than I will know exactly what will work the best.

Being that K&W are first time homeowners and twenty and ....er....thirty something, it is important to keep everything in perspective as far as budget goes. Since hubby and I have been in our house (roughly eight months), it has been non-stop entertainment for me to search for those perfect peices that come in under budget. I am sure K&W will appreciate this too!

Here are the bones of the Great Room. My suggestions will follow, then hopefully at some point we will see the after shots! As they will be what makes this blog entertaining afterall!

What would your suggestions be for this room? Would you paint? Which walls? Would you use a sectional? What about the kitchen, what would you do with it?
